Hi there
Haven't posted in ages but still surviving here in KL.
As a few suggest Changkat Bukit Bintang is the street where all of the bars are and you will find the football on here.

Finnigans is now Front page bar and shows all games are being aired.

I watch football in a bar called Ceylon bar a few doors up , It's my local , they put the commentary on and I have VIP status so they will put west ham game on ahead of others.

Beach Bar wont show football but if we are losing 3-0 I would suggest it's still an option !!

Cheers

Astro do have the FA Cup.

I might be over there myself next month.

Re: Kuala Lumpur Hammers
I'm currently living in KL and I would suggest Bukit Bintang area also. The local broadcaster, Astro, is all about the Premier League but should be ok for the cup this weekend.

You registered an account just to ask this?

Been KL a few times, but wouldn't be able to remember names of bars or roads etc. Just go to a bar with a tv on, you might get lucky!

Re: Kuala Lumpur Hammers
OK - this is from 2006 and, apparently, at least one bar that put on all English PL games has gone (or so I'm "reliably" informed - Finnigans). Take it with a health warning.

Anywhere around Bukit Bintang basically. The Beach Bar is a decent focal point but a little too brash for my taste. Just along the drag, about 100 yards towards KLCC (Jalang Ampang IIR) is/was an Argentine restaurant that used to put games on for me, but it's definitely not a "sports bar".

There is/was also a bar behind the Bukit Bintang shopping mall that screened games, but your best bet will probably be to wander along Changkat Bukit Bintang. About halfway down is/was The Green Man; that always had football on but more often than not, rugby. Opposite was/is Gypsy's, also with several screens. Atmosphere-wise I's say The Green Man was KUMB to Gypsy's WHO, but both friendly enough.

As there's no "challenging" games involving Asian PL favourites, I suspect you'll find most bars that show sport will screen the game - more in hope rather than catering for masses of "fans".

Like I say, this is all at least from my recollections of being there 10 years ago, so I expect much detail has changed.

I believe Irony left KL 4-5 years ago. Last known whereabouts was Oman, but probably moved on again since then...

WH67, Malayamer and Irony are/were in Malaysia, havnt seen any of them post for a while, Irony for a couple of years at least, sure they could point you in the right direction.

Could always try the beach club if its still going, all the taxi drivers will know it, you may well end up not watching so much of the game especially if we are getting beat, there maybe a few distractions if you get my drift.......................

in 2001 I was on a lay over en route to Sydney, I watched the Man United win (Defoe header) in a place called the Red Square.
